Colombia Bariatric offers health check ups (screenings) through its network of internationally accredited hospitals and clinics located throughout Colombia.
Our Mission: Reduce Chronic Diseases Through
Early Detection and Treatment
Our health check up prices are generally about 1/2 of the cost in the US.
Chronic diseases such as heart, lung, kidney and liver disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States.
They are also leading drivers of the nation’s $4.1 trillion in annual health care costs.
A number of the recommended exams typically included in a comprehensive health check up are already included in the pre-op exams. For example, laboratory blood work, EKG, blood pressure, etc.
Bariatric surgery patients may want to include other exams in the pre-op day. For example, echocardiogram, stress test, abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray, endoscopy and colonoscopy for a small extra fee.
The following is a summary of the various health screening options and the cost. Note: prices are estimates and are subject to change without prior notice.
Quick Test - takes only an hour or so and is focused on laboratory analysis of your blood, urine, stool and other exams. This quick, low cost test can reveal a wide variety of health concerns (heart, liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal, thryoid, cancer) for further testing if necessary. The results will be reviewed with you by a doctor of Internal Medicine.
Intermediate Screening - takes about 4 hours and includes the Quick Test as well as a number of diagnostic imaging (chest x-ray, abdominal ultrasound, EKG and mammogram for women over 40 years old or breast ultrasonography for women under 40 years old. The results will be reviewed with you by a doctor of Internal Medicine.
Advanced Screening - takes about 6 to 8 hours and includes the Quick Test and Intermediate Screening plus additional cardiology tests (echocardiogram, stress test with continuous EKG) and endoscopy and colonoscopy under sedation. The results will be reviewed by doctors of Internal Medicine, Urology, Nutrition and Gynecology.
